Job description

Leader Education are recruiting a HLTA to deliver 1-2-1 literacy interventions to work at a SEMH school in Cramlington. The ideal HLTA will have experience in working with young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and experience of working 1-2-1 delivering literacy interventions, as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.

At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
  • Have Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or other relevant qualifications are desirable
  • Have effective behaviour management strategies
  • Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's
  • Have previous experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting
  • Have previous experience of delivering literacy interventions
