Job Opportunity: Head of Maths

Package Description: Leader Group have partnered with an innovative and growing organisation dedicated to providing alternative learning environments for young people who are currently unable to access traditional educational settings. Our client, supports Independent Schools with a hybrid curriculum tailored to meet individual needs, including online learning, in-person tuition, and outdoor activities.

Position - Head of Maths

Location - Remote

Salary - up to £50,000

About the Role: Due to expansion, our client is looking for a an experienced Head of Maths to lead the strategic development of their Maths curriculum within their alternative learning environment. This role is pivotal in ensuring that young people who are disengaged or facing difficulties in mainstream education receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the alternative education model for Maths, developing innovative and bespoke curriculum approaches that incorporate online and face-to-face learning.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a Maths curriculum that meets the needs of students across Primary and Secondary levels, with a particular focus on supporting those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Collaborative Working: Partner with Headteachers, Tutors, and Local Authorities to create a high-quality educational provision that could be extended to students outside our organisation.
  • Quality Improvement: Work with school leaders to enhance the Quality of Education across all our schools, ensuring consistent delivery of a robust Maths curriculum.
  • Safeguarding and Personal Development: Collaborate with specialist safeguarding advisors to ensure all safeguarding protocols are adhered to and that personal development plans are in place for all students.
  • Support and Guidance: Act as a Lead Practitioner for Maths, offering support and guidance to Maths Teachers across our schools to elevate teaching standards and student outcomes.

Hybrid Working: This role offers the flexibility of primarily working from home, with regular travel to our schools across the country as needed.

We Would Love to Hear From You If You:

  • Are an expert in the Maths curriculum across Primary and Secondary education.
  • Have extensive experience supporting students with SEND.
  • Hold QTS or QTLS and are a qualified teacher.
  • Are passionate about developing new educational provisions for young people who are disengaged from mainstream education.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of safeguarding and have experience working with local authorities.
  • Have experience within senior leadership teams (advantageous but not essential).
