Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Gateshead
Contract Type: Long-term
Leader Education are seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a vibrant Primary School in Gateshead.
This school provides specialist support for children aged 3 to 11 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Additionally, many students benefit from tailored support to address their Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Prior experience or transferable skills in SEND and SEMH is ideal.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
- HLTA qualification.
- Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
- Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery.
- Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils.
