Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a conscientious Learning Support Assistant to work within a small alternative provision based in Gateshead.

Pupils with needs including behavioural, social emotional and mental health (SEMH) will require a Learning Support Assistant who can offer support and create a positive, proactive environment.

With an Ofsted rating of 'Good' this school is continuing to improve and develop, focusing strongly on ensuring pupils reach the highest levels of personal achievement and development.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position. Leader Education are dedicated to ensuring that we find adaptable roles and schedules that work effectively for you.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• Have experience of working in a transferable role.
• Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
• Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
• Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
• Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
• Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
