Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work within a Newcastle based school, catered for pupils who have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). This role requires some experience working with children who have SEMH needs, or vulnerable individuals who need one to one support. Applicants who have a sports background e.g. sports coaching, experience delivering sports related sessions are encouraged to apply.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful LSA will have:

• A fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• Worked with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
• An ability to follow personalised curriculum's and EHCP's to meet pupil's requirements.
• Planning skills and can implement those plans into the child's curriculum.
• A strong presence in the classroom.
• Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
