Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) secondary school in North Tyneside.

This inclusive SEND school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with conditions ranging from Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) to Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

This school was noted by Ofsted to have an 'inclusive, open culture with high expectations of pupils and staff'.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
• Have experience of working in a transferable role.
• Have a knowledge of EHCPs.
• Work effectively with parents, carers and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
• Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
• Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
