Job description
Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (SEMH) to work within a SEMH school based in Morpeth, Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with young people with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and experience of supporting in a classroom environment as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential.
At Leader Education, the normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3.30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
- Have an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
- Have effective behaviour management strategies
- Monitor and manage students' behaviour and wellbeing
- Support the student's emotional wellbeing
- Encourage the students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Learning Plans/Behaviour Management Plans or similar
