Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: North Yorkshire

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to work within a SEND school in Yorkshire.

This school provides education and care for pupils aged 3 to 16 years who have an EHCP and a range of specific learning difficulties.

The school operates across two sites - a primary site and a secondary site - both offering a warm and inclusive community of staff and students. Its large catchment area spans from Stockton-on-Tees to Harrogate.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update system or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Have relevant experience - with SEND or vulnerable individuals.
  • Establish a supportive and consistent relationship, promoting a positive learning experience.
  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of the academic, emotional, and behavioural needs of the child and respond to these effectively.
  • Be flexible and resilient.
  • Possess good classroom skills.
