Job Title: PMLD Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a PMLD Teacher to work at a small SEND school in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will have QTS as well as experience working with children with profound multiple learning difficulties. The school caters for ages 2 - 19-year-old with a range of diverse special educational needs. They are an educational and therapeutic community for their students, helping them to gains skills that build their independence in the adult world.

With an Ofsted rating of 'good' they really strive for success across all parts of the school. This ranges from the students' progression, personal development of teachers and overall relationships built between students and teaching assistants.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • DBS or be willing to obtain one.
  • QTS / TRN.
  • Specialised training or working experience with PMLD is highly recommended.
  • Familiarity with a variety of teaching methodologies and behavioural intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external professionals.
