Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Sunderland

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a large primary school in Sunderland.

This primary school provides its students with an enriching education, helping every single child to achieve their absolute very best. The successful teaching assistant will pay a vital role in providing support and contributing towards success.

This school features a base for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), making prior experience with SEND or vulnerable individuals highly desirable.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4pm.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role.
  • Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
  • Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning and delivery.
  • Possess good classroom skills.
  • Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
