Job Title: Cover Supervisor - Pupil Referral Unit (PRU)

Leader Education is looking for an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Wakefield. This long-term temporary role involves working full-time with young people aged 14-16 who are no longer in mainstream education due to social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a calm and supportive environment while delivering pre-set lessons and managing classroom behaviour effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in alternative provision.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working in a school or alternative provision setting, ideally with SEMH or challenging behaviour
• Confidence leading a class and delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to de-escalate situations and support students with complex needs
• A calm, resilient, and patient approach, with a strong commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
