Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Gateshead
Contract Type: Long term
Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for an alternative provision in Gateshead.
This all-through school works with learners who are no longer in mainstream education due to a range of Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural needs.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with or supporting vulnerable individuals.
The aim of this school is to help pupils return to mainstream education or to another provision that meets their needs.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
- Be able to work alongside pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
- Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting, communicating effectively.
- Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
- Be flexible and resilient.
- Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
- Possess good classroom skills.
