Job description
Job Title: SEND Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Contract Type: Long term temporary
Leader Education are recruiting a Teacher for a SEND Primary School to start after Easter and continuing until July 18th.
This school provides support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). As a result, experience working with children with special needs, particularly Autism, is essential.
Ofsted have described this school as friendly and inspirational, with staff having high expectations for pupils.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to obtain one
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Have experience working with SEND or vulnerable groups
- Assist pupils in lessons and activities
- Plan and deliver lessons in line with the curriculum
- Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students
- Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support
- Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities
