Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term
Pay: £85 to £100 Per Day
Leader Education is recruiting SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEND schools based in Leeds. These schools cater to children and young people aged 4-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with SEND on a 1:1 or group basis, either in a classroom or care setting.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, and the role is long-term.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly those with Autism, PMLD, or SEMH needs.
- A nurturing and patient approach to supporting students with diverse and complex needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
- Adaptability and the ability to respond effectively to the individual needs of students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
