Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Durham
Contract Type: Long term
Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.
This school caters for young people aged 2 to 19 with a diverse range of special educational needs. These include Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting the needs of children with SEND.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Have experience working in a transferable role
- Have knowledge of EHCP's
- Follow personalised curriculum's and care plans to meet pupil's requirements
- Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
- Set up lessons, equipment and activities within the classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils
