Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEND)
Location: North Tyneside
Contract Type: Long Term

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work at a SEND school based in North Tyneside. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, whether that be in an educational or support environment. Any exposure to working with children who have ASC is desirable. The school caters for students aged 11-16-year-old.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position, upon a successful trial.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • A good knowledge on EHCP's.
  • The ability to assist in lessons and activities.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
