Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Durham
Contract Type: Long term
Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.
This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs and is renowned for its warm, inclusive atmosphere that empowers students to thrive.
The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with SEND and/or PMLD.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:
- Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Have experience of working in a transferable role or with SEND.
- Lead activities with individuals or small groups to facilitate educational development.
- Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported.
- Provide a stimulating and well-structured learning environment suitable for pupils with SEND.
- Be flexible and resilient.
- Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
- Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
