Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: North Tyneside

Contract Type: Long term

Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant who will thrive within a North Tyneside SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) secondary school.

This inclusive SEND school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant who will help pupils excel in a positive and supportive environment, assisting them in educational achievement.

This school prides itself on its positive and honest relationships, meeting the needs of pupils whose needs range from Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASC) to Moderate Learning Difficulty (MLD).

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30 and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role.
  • Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
  • Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning.
  • Possess good classroom skills.
  • Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
