Leader Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Northumberland that specialises in supporting students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This school aims to provide the highest quality education to its cohort of 100 learners, with core values of respect, integrity, compassion, honesty, and trust underpinning the way in which they deliver their curriculum.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 16:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be wiling to obtain one.
• Have experience of working in a transferable role.
• Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
• Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil's requirements.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of the child's curriculum through lesson planning.
• Possess good classroom skills.
• Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil.
