Job description

Leader Education are recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to work at a mainstream primary school based in Northumberland. This school caters for EYFS children up to Key Stage 2 and prides itself on creating a happy, healthy and inspiring environment for children to reach their full potential in. The ideal candidate will be friendly, express a genuine passion for education and have some experience working alongside children and young people.

This schools most recent Ofsted report was presented as "Outstanding" as it continues to deliver the highest standard of teaching through a broad and stimulating curriculum.

The normal working pattern is Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4pm and is a long-term position, given a successful trial.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and ensuring the welfare of children
  • A compassionate personality and values honesty, inclusivity and respect
  • Some experience working with children or young people in an educational setting is desirable
