Job description
At Leader Education, we are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to support children within a SEND school who cater for young people between the ages of 2 to 19, this school is based in Cramlington, Northumberland. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential. This is a great opportunity to develop a deeper understanding about working with children who have moderate and severe learning disabilities.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 until 15:30.

The successful Candidate will:
- Candidates will need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one
- Provide 1-2-1 support to students with EHCP's
- Monitor and manage student's behaviour and wellbeing
- Support the development of social and emotional skills
- Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
- Work with individuals or groups of children (both in and out of the classroom) who are experiencing emotional difficulties
- Create and produce resources for use with intervention programmes, as appropriate i.e. THRIVE
