Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH)

Leader Education are recruiting a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to work at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with challenging behaviour, with an ability to be consistent and work closely with complex students.

This school caters for students ages 11-16 who are at a point of crisis in their education. They focus on personal development to make sure every student feels happy, and safe in an environment where they're valued and inspired to work. With an Ofsted rating of 'Good', this school offers a fresh start for their pupils.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 4.30pm and is a long-term position, upon a successful trial.

The successful candidate will have:

• DBS on the update service or be willing to get one.
• Patient and understanding with challenging behaviour
• Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students.
• A good knowledge on EHCP's.
• The ability to assist in lessons and activities.
• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
• Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
