Job Title: Maths Teacher

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Contract Type: Temporary (until Christmas with a possibility of extension)

Leader Education is recruiting for a Maths Teacher to work at a large, mainstream secondary school based in Wakefield. This role is required until at least Christmas, with the possibility of being extended further.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and passionate teacher, capable of delivering engaging and dynamic Maths lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and 4. School-based experience is essential, with a strong focus on raising achievement and supporting students to meet their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver high-quality Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.

- Support students in achieving their academic targets, ensuring all students are challenged to their full potential.

- Effectively manage classroom behaviour, fostering a positive learning environment.

- Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the wider school community, including attendance at staff meetings and school events.

The successful candidate will have:

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification in the UK.

- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.

- A passion for helping students succeed and overcome barriers to learning.

- Excellent communication and organisational skills.

- The ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.

- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
