Job Title: Primary SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Keighley , West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term
Leader Education are seeking a passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEND school based near Keighley. The school supports students aged 2 - 11 with a range of severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and complex learning and medical needs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children and young people on a 1:1 or small group basis within a classroom setting.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, hours may slightly change depending on the school.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly those with Autism or complex learning difficulties, from a school or childrens residential home.
- Makaton and/or BSL would be advantageous.
- Be able to reliably commute to work via Public transport or personal vehicle.
- A patient, nurturing approach to supporting students with a wide range of abilities and needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other support staff.
- The ability to adapt and respond to the dynamic and individual needs of students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
