Job Title: Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant (ASC & MLD)
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term
Leader Education is recruiting a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) in both specialist and mainstream settings in Wakefield. This role is designed for individuals dedicated to helping young people aged 11-16 navigate their educational and personal growth, providing essential support to students with SEND needs across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Position Details:
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
- Long-term role with potential for a permanent contract
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, particularly ASC and MLD
- A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach to working with students with additional needs
- Excellent communication skills for building effective relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Flexibility and resilience to meet the evolving needs of students and the school environment
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
