Role: SEMH Teacher

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Location: Stockport

Leader Education are working in partnership with an independent SEMH School, based in Stockport. We are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Teacher to teach one of the following subjects: Maths; English and Science - This is to teach pupils who are identified as having Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. (SEMH, SEN, BED, BESD, EBD).

THE JOB

• To teach a small class of students aged 7 - 18 all diagnosed with variants of SEMH and SEN needs.
• To adhere to individualised learning plans
• Update EHCP Plans
• To manage and mentor a team of learning support workers
• To be a proactive part of the teaching team
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
• Encourage and facilitate a learning experience providing students the opportunity to achieve.

Essential skills:

• QTS / QTLS (This is mandatory)
• Able to be fun and handle banter with pupils and staff
• Hardworking
• Be able to work well on your own and as a team
• Dynamic and resilient
• Be passionate and committed to inclusive learning
• Be patient and understanding
• Be able to motivate and inspire
• Have a genuine passion for SEND and /or SEMH
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
• Be diverse with your lessons and be able to reach learners at varying levels and abilities

All successful applicants are subject to DBS and safeguarding checks and would start working through our agency whilst the school complete your compliance. There is the chance to go permanent.
