Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Scunthorpe

Salary: £23,000 - £24,500

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Inclusive Learning: Assist in the implementation of inclusive teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom.
  2. Individualised Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special needs, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities.
  3. Collaborative Planning: Work closely with teachers and other educational professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
  4. Promote Positive Behaviour: Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment by reinforcing positive behaviour and assisting in managing challenging behaviours.
  5. Adaptation of Materials: Modify and adapt instructional materials to cater to the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working in an educational setting, particularly with students who have diverse learning needs or relevant transferable experience

- Understanding of inclusive education principles and strategies.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development of all students.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.

Education:

- A relevant degree in education, special education, or a related field is preferred.
