At Leader Education, we are looking for a SEND Learning Support Assistant to be a part of a dynamic and inclusive team in the Sunderland area.

Responsibilities:

· Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

· Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement education health care plans (EHCPs) for students with SEND.

· Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a positive attitude towards learning, and helping students build self-esteem and confidence.

· Assisting with classroom activities, providing necessary accommodations and modifications to meet individual student's needs.

· Supporting students in developing essential life skills, including communication, social interaction, and self-help skills.

· Monitoring and recording student progress, reporting to teachers, and adapting support strategies as needed.

· Assisting with behavioural management, ensuring a safe and respectful school environment for all students.

· Engaging in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in SEND education.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following qualifications and requirements:

· Experience working with individuals with SEND is highly desirable.

· Relevant training or qualifications in SEND education or related fields would be an advantage.

· A strong commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, and equality within the school community.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in student's lives.

· An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one.
