Job description
Leader Education are recruiting a SEND Learning Support Assistant to work at a specialist primary school located in Billingham. This school is part of the Ascent Academies' Trust and caters for children aged 4 to 11 years old who have a diagnosis of ASC and/or PMLD. The ideal candidate will express a genuine passion for supporting the needs of children who require extra support as well as some experience working alongside children with SEND.
This schools most recent Ofsted report was presented as "Good" as it continues to create a nurturing, respectful environment for children to thrive in.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30pm and is a long-term position given a successful trial.
The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working alongside children with SEND in an education setting
- A compassionate personality and values honesty, inclusivity and respect
- A knowledgeable understanding of safeguarding and ensuring the wellbeing of children
- The ability to support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
