Job Title: Sports Instructor (SEMH Specialist)
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Long Term
Leader Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Instructor to join our team in a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) setting based in Wakefield. The school caters to young people aged 11-16 who have significant SEMH needs and may have been excluded from mainstream education. We are looking for an individual who can lead sports activities and help students develop their physical and social skills.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience delivering sports activities to young people, ideally within an SEMH or similar setting.
- A strong understanding of the importance of physical activity in supporting mental and emotional well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A calm and resilient approach, able to effectively manage challenging behaviour and support students with complex needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, physical education, or a related field are desirable.
