Teacher for Alternative Provision Full Time

Leader Education are urgently recruiting a Teacher for an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental health) provision in Tyne and Wear.

It is essential that the successful candidate has the ability to connect and engage with young people that may be struggling with their mental health.

The successful candidate will be teaching a range of subjects in a dedicated SEMH provision in an idyllic setting. The school caters for Key Stage 3 and 4 students and has a track record of offering supply staff permanent contracts. The ideal candidate must be comfortable delivering Maths up to KS3 level. The school prides itself on providing a caring, safe and family-oriented ethos and an environment where young people feel valued and respected. The ideal candidate will share this ethos and have a passion for developing resilience and raising aspirations.

Successful candidates will provide an engaging, therapeutic approach to teaching pupils with a variety of backgrounds and abilities.

Applicants should be:

• QTS / QTLS qualified
• Experience of delivering Maths up to Key Stage 3
• Applicants with FE or PCET Teaching qualifications will be considered
• Flexible and adaptable to meet the specific unique needs of SEMH learners
• Passionate about helping students that may have become disenfranchised with education, to achieve their personal and academic goals
• Organised and creative in your approach to teaching
• Resilient in challenging situations
