Job description
Leader Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant (TA) to work in a Large Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Ashington who cater for children aged from 2 to 19 years old. The successful TA will work 1:1 and in small groups with children who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or needing extra support within the classroom. It is essential for the successful Teaching Assistant to have experience working with children in a relevant field. Transferable skills are important to this role.
The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will have:
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
- Experience of working with young children with SEND
- An energetic and proactive approach towards supporting the children
- An encouraging attitude towards the students by assisting them with their needs within the classroom
- Clear communication skills
- An ability to empower the students when reaching achievements or small goals
- Help to plan classroom activities and prepare materials needed for each lesson
