Job description

Leader Education are recruiting a Cover Supervisor to work at an all through school based in Newcastle. The school caters for young people aged 5 to 16 years old with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have had previous experience in leadership roles with transferable skills and experience working with children who have challenging behaviour. This alongside a passion for working with young people is essential.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm and is a long-term position.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to obtain one
  • An ability to implement lessons, that have been prepared, and create a positive and effective learning setting
  • Supervising skills and can support students, overseeing their behaviour and create an inclusive and respectful environment
  • Maintenance of records for student attendance and be able to promptly report any incidents or problems to relevant staff members
  • An ability to uphold the school's policies and procedures, promoting a safe and nurturing environment for all
  • A sincere enthusiasm for education and a commitment to nurturing student's academic and personal development
