Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Leader Education is seeking a confident and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wakefield. This role is ideal for a Level 4 qualified HLTA or a qualified teacher looking to take a step down while still making a meaningful impact in the classroom.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for providing PPA cover across different year groups, delivering engaging lessons, and supporting teaching and learning. You will also receive allocated PPA time for planning, ensuring you have the opportunity to prepare and deliver high-quality lessons.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across various year groups to cover PPA time.
• Plan and prepare engaging lessons, with dedicated PPA time allocated.
• Support class teachers in assessing and tracking pupil progress.
• Lead small group interventions to support learning in core subjects.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and participation.
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and development.
• Uphold school policies, including safeguarding and behavior management.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• HLTA Level 4 qualification or QTS (for teachers looking for a different role in education).
• Experience working within a primary school setting.
• Confidence in leading full-class sessions and delivering engaging lessons.
• Strong behavior management and classroom leadership skills.
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting teaching and learning.
• A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
