Job description

Leader Education are looking for a KS2 Teaching Assistant to work in a Mainstream Primary School based in Newcastle. The successful TA will work 1:1 and in small groups with children who may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and ideally have prior experience working in education. This school creates an inspiring and caring school community in which every child is encouraged to reach their full capability.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position. An ASAP start is available for the TA who has a DBS on the Update service.

The successful candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience of working with young children.
  • A motivating and supportive presence towards the children.
  • An encouraging attitude towards the students by assisting them with their needs within the classroom.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • An ability to empower the students when reaching achievements or small goals.
  • Help to plan classroom activities and prepare materials needed for each lesson.
