Job Title: Science Teacher

Location: Gateshead

Contract type: Long term temporary

Leader Education are recruiting a Science Teacher who will bring their expertise to an alternative provision in Gateshead.

This school supports students with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) therefore, experience with SEMH, or vulnerable individuals would be highly beneficial.

This provision works with learners who are facing an interruption in their learning due to being permanently excluded or because they require assistance with their underlying needs.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:00am until 4pm.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous experience as a Science Teacher
  • Ability to effectively deliver the curriculum, offering support, advice and guidance to pupils
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals
  • Adaptability and initiative to accommodate for various learning type and abilities, striving towards social and academic development
  • High expectations and aspirations for young people and themselves
