Leader Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated KS2 Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision for children aged 11-16 in Wakefield. This unique opportunity is perfect for an educator committed to transforming the educational and emotional outcomes of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons for KS2 students with SEMH needs, focusing on their educational and emotional development.
  • Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes both academic progress and well-being.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to align with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to implement holistic, cross-curricular approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Manage behavior effectively using positive strategies that foster resilience and growth.
  • Maintain thorough records of student progress and provide regular updates to parents, carers, and senior staff.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience teaching in a KS2 setting or students working at that level, ideally with SEMH or SEND students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to motivate students with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting personal development.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).
