Leader Education is seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic SEMH Nurture Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision for children aged 11-16 in Wakefield. This rewarding role is ideal for an educator passionate about supporting the holistic development of young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The role focuses on creating a nurturing environment to support students' academic, emotional, and social growth, fostering resilience and positive relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored lessons that prioritize emotional well-being alongside academic progress.
• Establish a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that meets the needs of students with SEMH.
• Plan and implement strategies to support personal and social development, in line with individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Use a nurturing approach to manage behavior and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues, families, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students.
• Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents, carers, and senior staff.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and safeguarding practices.

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

• Experience teaching in a nurture or SEMH-focused setting.
• A deep understanding of how to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students.
• Effective classroom management strategies that foster a nurturing environment.
• A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification (desirable but not essential).
