Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: High Wycombe

Schedule: Monday - Friday

Salary: £29,500 - £39,000

We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teacher to cover core Maths or English subjects in an SEMH specialist school based in High Wycombe.

This specialist school provides education and support for pupils aged 11 - 18 years. The pupils are all identified as having Social, Emotional or Mental Health(SEMH) difficulties, but may also have additional SEN needs. The school's aim is to provide the best possible care and education for these pupils. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with children with additional needs and, at least, some teaching experience. Primary school teaching and experience is well suited and considered for this role as the skills and experience are transferable.

You will be required to teach a small classroom of pupils that will be supported with TA's.

You:

  • A qualified Teacher with QTS
  • Specialism in Maths or English subjects would be advantagous
  • Previous experience with SEMH children is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to promote effective, inclusive education for children will be considered.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Have a high standard of classroom skills.
  • An ability to teach a range of subjects in line with the National Curriculum, alongside a willingness to deliver in other curriculum areas.
  • Be encouraged by the challenge of re-engaging disengaged learners through positive activities and outcomes including vocational, hands on, active learning.
  • Have a passion for teaching and learning with the ability to make learning enjoyable and fun.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collaborative working.
